You can search for an ATM using the Westpac App, or our Branch and ATM locator. With our network of Westpac, St.George, BankSA, Bank of Melbourne or select Westpac Group partner ATMs, you can do your banking when it suits.

Using our ATMs

All our ATMs are audio accessible. Screens are displayed in English as well as Chinese (Traditional & Simplified), Korean, Vietnamese, Hindi, Bahasa Indonesia, Arabic, Italian and Japanese.

  • Cash and cheques
    Deposit cash through our Westpac ATMs and get instant value for cash deposited. For cash deposits to some Home and Investment and Offset accounts processing times can vary (processing times below). Cheque deposits are credited to your account that day but are not available for withdrawal until all funds have been cleared. Clearance days apply for cheques to all account types. Deposit limits will apply.
     
  • Cardless deposit
    Lets you deposit cash and cheques at select Westpac ATMs to an eligible Westpac account without a card. Deposit limits will apply.​
     
  • Coin Deposit Machine
    You can deposit coins at Westpac, St.George, BankSA and Bank of Melbourne CDMs with your card. Deposit limits will apply.​
     

Use our Find a branch or ATM locator to find your nearest ATM and CDM where you can make a deposit. Make sure you select the ‘ATM’ filter for ATM deposits or ‘Coin Deposit Machine (CDM)’ filter for coin deposits in the Refine Search bar.
 

Deposit limits: An aggregated deposit limit of up to $10,000 within any rolling 24-hour period may apply to the cash that can be deposited at a Westpac ATM, CDM and Bank@Post - see table below.

Westpac ATM

St.George, BankSA and Bank of Melbourne customers can deposit notes at select Westpac ATMs.

  • $10,000 cash (notes) per account using your Westpac card
  • $4,000 per account, using cardless deposit
  • 40 cheques at a time (Westpac customer only), no limits apply.
Bank@Post at selected Australia Post Offices
  • a daily limit of $7,000 cash, and less than $1 million for cheques
  • a total limit of less than $1 million (of which no more than $7,000 cash) per customer, when making a mixed cash and cheque deposit.
Westpac, St.George, BankSA and Bank of Melbourne CDM
  • $10,000 cash (coins) per account using your Westpac card



Processing times: Cash deposits at an ATM or CDM are credited to your account on that day. Processing and cut-off times will vary depending on the time of day the cash deposit is made. Cheque deposits are credited to your account that day but are not available for withdrawal until all funds have been cleared.

For some Home and Investment Loans and Offset accounts, cash deposits after 7pm (Sydney time) via an ATM or CDM or after 6.50pm (Sydney time) at participating Bank@Post outlets on a business day, or at any time on any other day, will not be processed until the next business day, despite appearing immediately as available balance in the account, and may impact the interest accrual calculation on your account.

 

A business day means any day other than a Saturday, Sunday, or a national public holiday in Australia.

ATM Partners

Westpac customers can access ATM transactions free of the ATM operator fee at eligible Westpac Group partner ATMs located in Australia.

What you can do at Precinct ATMs:

  • Withdraw cash
  • Get account balances
  • Choose from the following languages: English, Chinese (Traditional & Simplified), Italian, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, Malaysian, Bahasa Indonesia, Spanish, French and Arabic.

At atmx by Armaguard ATMs:

  • Withdraw cash 
  • Get account balances 
  • Choose from the following languages: English, Chinese (Traditional & Simplified), Arabic, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish and Vietnamese.

Non-Westpac Group ATMs​ ​

You can also withdraw money and check your balance at Non-Westpac Group branded and non-Westpac Group partner ATMs. ​ ​
 

While many of the major bank ATMs are fee-free, there are some operators where ATM operator fees may apply and will vary depending on the ATM used. The fee will be displayed on the ATM screen at the time of the transaction for you to either accept or decline before proceeding.
 

The ATM operator fee will be debited on the day (or next business day) of the transaction and itemised separately on your statement.


 

Along with checking your balance, withdrawing and depositing money, there’s more you can do at most Westpac ATMs attached to a branch:
 

  • PIN Change
    Change your PIN (if you know your existing PIN)
     
  • All Accounts Balance Summary
    Check the balance of all your linked accounts
     
  • Mini Transaction History
    Obtain a mini-statement history (up to the last 10 transactions)
     
  • Transfer
    Transfer funds between linked accounts
     
  • Set withdrawal preferences
    Save a favourite amount, account, receipt preference and language option to make cash withdrawals even faster
     

If you are a credit card cardholder, you can make payments to your card account at eligible Westpac ATMs by:

  • Making a deposit to the card account
  • Transferring funds from linked accounts

You can also use Westpac, St.George, BankSA and Bank of Melbourne Cash Exchange Machines (CEM) to exchange notes for coins or smaller notes. Use our Find a branch or ATM locator to find your nearest CEM, making sure you select the ‘Cash Exchange Machine (CEM)’ filter in the Refine Search bar.

ATM security tips

  • Be aware of your surroundings
  • Stand close to the ATM and use your free hand to shield and cover the keypad when entering your PIN
  • Before inserting your card, check if there is anything unusual on or around the ATM, especially around the card reader slot
  • Do not push your card during the entry process and do not pull your card during the exit process
  • Report anything suspicious on 1800 022 022, even if it appears to be trivial – your action could prevent others from being the victim of fraud
  • Never give your PIN to anyone or write it down
  • Check for any unusual transactions on your bank statements

All of our ATMs provide audio guidance when transacting. Use any standard 3.5mm earpiece and our audio enabled ATMs will give clear verbal instructions (English) and provide confirmation of your selection at each step. The tactile labelling at the ATM can assist you with:

  • Getting your cash and receipt
